1925 - January 28 - V. F. Outland was in town last week, turning back the Lakeview Hotel property to the Pennsylvania Railroad Co. Mr. Outland's option on the property expired January. 1.

1925 Mar 18 - Jungle Changes Hands

C. C. Longfellow and Oscar Mondoux Are New Proprietors

A deal was just closed yeserday closed whereby C. C. Longfellow and Oscar Mondoux became the proprietors of the Jungle Hotel.

They have purchased the furnishing and the buildings for a period of years from Mr. and Mrs. V. F. Outland who have operated the hotel for a number of years.

Both Mr. Longfellow and Mr. Mondoux are well known in Culver and viciity, the former having been at the Palmer House for the past six year and the latter for about two years. They are now busily engaged in making the place in readiness for the Easter operning.

Mr. and Mrs. Outland, who have made several trips to FLordia the past few winters, have decided to make that their permanent residence

Divorce Suit

Mrs. Lavonia Outland FInds Her Bonds Irksome Laconia Outland has filed suit for divorce from Virgil Outland, thorugh attorneys Kisstler & Kistler. They were married May 15th, 1894. Thhe plaintiff alleges that her husband represented himself to be a travelling saleman and the went from place to place with no fixed place of residence. She says she only knew the defendant for two months previous to marriage and he said he was able to support her. The complainf set forth, however, that she was obliged to do hard work to support her family. COmplains That Wife Was Escorted Home By Other Men

Virgil F. Outland was granted a divorce from Lavonia C. Outland by Judge Hanna of the Superior court yesterday.

The woman filed a suit of divorce some time ago but the divorce was denied her in another Superior Cpurt.

The husband charged cruel treatment and said that his wife went to dances and allowed other men to take her home.

She took the stand in her own defense and said that the dances were given by a club to which both she and her husband belonged and she declared that nothing imporper in her conduct. 10 Nov 1907 Indianapolis, Indiana

Mrs. V. F. Outland

Mrs. Helen Kepler Outland, 84 years old of Indianapolis, a former Cambridge City resident, died Friday night.

She was the widow of V. F. Outland.

She was the daughter of George and Mary Kepler, former Wayne county residents. and a member of the Cambridge City Baptist church

Only surviviors include cousins.

Funeral services were held Monday at the Howard & Son funeral home in Cambridge City. Rev. C. Carlson officiated.
