Fire Department Will Get New Equipment
Lake Maxinkuckee Association To Pay The Bill
The Culver - Union Township Fire
Department will receive a sizeable contribution for new equipment as the result of
the action of the Lake Maxinkuekee Association's directors at their meeting held Friday
evening at the beautiful new home of President Allan P. Ramsay, 1970 East Shore Drive.
The much needed equipment will consist of new hose, two new high-pressure nozzles, and
several powerful hand lights.
The directors approved the allocation of funds for this purpose by unanimous vote and at
the same time expressed their appreciation for the excellent service being rendered by the
Fire Department.
At the meeting President Ramsay appointed these new committees for the coming year:
Lake Safety Committee:

a representative from the Culver Boat Co.

Mrs. Charles Van Sipma.
Sanitation Committee:

Mrs. Perry O'Neal, and

Plans were also made for a complete survey of sewage facilities and sanitation of properties
around the lake which are outside the range of the present town and Academy sewage system.
It is hoped that this survey will lead to the correction of such facilities in order that all
contamination and pollution of the lake will be eliminated.

Secretary Trone reported that membership in the association reached an all-time high this past
year, with approximately 70 per cent of the lake residents paying dues. It is hoped that in the
