1965 Annual Meeting

Frank Setzler Is New Head Of Lake Association

The annual meeting of the Lake Maxinkuckee Association was held last Friday evening, Aug. 27, at the B a n k Auditorium. The activities of the past summer were reviewed, and the treasurer's report was made by Don G. Trone.

New officers for the 1965-66 year are F r a n k Setzler, president; Admiral John H. Bays , vice-president; Don G. Trone, secretary-treasurer. The retiring president, Robert J . Diseher, thanked the members and the patrol officers James Cox and William Cleavenger for their cooperation and efforts to make the Lake a safe and pleasant place for everyone.

During the summer a new police car was obtained by the Association, and both the car and the patrol boat were equipped with radio telephones to augment the present police band radio service. This now gives the patrol officers instant contact with each other and with the Marshall County Sheriff's office and with the Culver Town Police.

Secretary Trone reported that many more buoys marking the 200-foot protected swimming and pier areas were placed around the Lake, but that many of these were moved and destroyed during the summer. New signs stating, the rules and regulations for the boat launching area on the West Shore were placed along that location and several new trash barrels were added there in order that all waste may be collected weekly.

The incoming president, Frank Setzler, stressed the necessity for cooperation among all property owners to obtain the greatest benefits from the Association's efforts. He also called attention to the need for educating boaters, water-skiers, and others in the observance of the Indiana Boating Laws, and the proper rules for safety and courtesy on the roads as well as on the Lake.
