Frank Ward Drowns
1883 - August - Drowned at Lake Maxlnkuckee-
A passenger on the Nickel Plate this afternoon informed a SENTINEL reporter
that a young man named Ward was drowned at Maxinkuckee lake.
Deceased went out beyond hisbdepth, was caught in an eddy and
carried down into a hole some fifty feet deep.
The father to deceased is spending the summer at that place, and
is a member of the extensive drug firm of Ward Brothers, of
Indianapolie.
The distracted man telegraphed soon after the accident to Chicago
for a diver to find the body of his son. - - Fort Wayne Daily

Frank Ward Drowned
Dr. A. Ward and wide, 377 North New Jersey street, were this morning
shocked by the bews that their son Frank, age eighteen years, had beed
drowned last night while bathing to Lake Maxinkuckee
Frank was to have returned on the 2 a.m., Wabash train, but ubstead a
comrade came bearing the sad intelligence.
The young man was bathing some distance from shore, and was seized
with cramps.
He was quite will known in the city, and was a general favorite among
all his acquaintances.
The bidy had not been recoveered when the word was recieved from the lake,

bathing. He made a dive in 40 feet water, was seized with cramp and never
