James F. D. Lanier's Land Patent Certificate #7338 James F. D. Lanier of Jefferson county, Indiana on 30 June 1837 was issued Certificate #7008 for the North west quarter of section fifteen and the East half of the South East Quarter of Section Seventeen in township thirty two containing 240 acres.

To all to whom these present shall come, Greeting: Whereas James  F. D. Lanier of Jefferson County Indiana has 
deposited in the  Genral Land Office of the United States, a Certificate of the  Register of the Land Office at
LaPorte whereby it appears that  full payment has been made by the said James F. D. Lanier  according to the 
provisions of the Act of Congress of the 24th  of April, 1820, entitled "An Act making futher provision for the
sale of Public Lands" for
  
    the North West quarter of Section Fifteen and the East half of the South East quarter of Section Seventee, in Township Thirty two North of Range One East in the District lands subject to sale at LaPorte Indiana. Containing Two hundred and forty acres.
according to the offical plat of the survey of the said Lands, returned to the Genral Land Office by the surveyor General, which said tract has been purchased by the said James F. D. Lanier.

Now Know ye, That the United States of America, in consderation of the Premises, and in conformity with the several acts of Congress, in such case made and provided, Have Given and Granted, and by these presents Do Give and Grant, in the saind James F. D. Lanier and to his heirs, the said trac tabove described: To Have and To Hold the same, together with all the riights, priveleges, immunities and appurtenances of whatso ever nature, thereunto belonging to the said James F. D. Lanier and his heirs and assigns forever.

In Testimony Whereof, I, Martin Van Buren President of the United States of America, have caused these Letters to be made Patent, and the Seal of the General Land Office to be hereunto affixed. Given under my hand at the City of Washington, the thirtieth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty Seven and of the Independenceof The United States the Sixty first.
