1867, Jul - We understand there is some talk abont placing a small steamer on lake Maxinkuckee, in this county, for the accommodation of pleasure parties. It would, no doubt, be extensively patronized. Maxinkuckee lake is a beautiful sheet of frater, abounding with fish of every variety, and the scenery along the shores the most delightful. 1884 - Jul 30 - The little wooden steamer on Lake Maxinkuckee went to pieoes daring the storm on Friday night.-- Journal and Courier, Lafayette

1886 - Feb 24 - Captain Lord, who owns and ran the steamer Vandalia for several years on Lake Maxinkuckee, has moved the steamer to Cedar Lake and it is now on Shoup's landing, being fitted up in Arit-class shape for the season. The steamer is a fine small boat, that will carry fifty people. Indiana Herald, Huntington, Indiana

In 1879 there were 10 sailboats on the lake per Maxinkuckee Clubs & Sailboats article in the Indianapolis Sentinel

1886 - Aug 21 - There are from three to four hundred row - boat on Lake Maxinkuckee birch - bark canoes. clinker - boats, flat - bottom boats. - and scows not named and incapable of description. A good sized fortune in this kind of property alone is represented. The row-boat is the common method of locomotion in making calls, in going to church and from moonlight rambles, for the roads are circuitous and almost impassable, and horses are few. Some of the finest rowers at the lake are girls. - Indianapolis News

1890 - Feb 25 - A. J. Morrow is about to trade his grist mill for a steamboat on Lake Maxinkuckee - Logansport Pharos Tribune

1891 - May 29 - Mrs. Lord is preparing to launch another steamer at Lake Maxinkuckee and is building a new pier on Long Point.-- Logansport Daily Tribune

1896 - Apr 28 - ED Morris, of Marmont, on Lake Maxinkuckee, has just completed his new Steamboat and will launch it on May. 9 - Fort Wayne Journal-Gazette

1897 May 7 - Last Friday, Wm Swigart, loaded the little steamer belonging to Bert Knapp, the same being shiped to Illinois. It took Swigart and his men half a day to load it upon cars. The boat used to be run upon Lake Maxinkuckee, and was a dandy.
