New Excursion Boat On Lake Maxinkuckee

Culver - The boat, Doodlebug is a Harris Pontoon Floate Boat and is 36 feet long and 10 wide. It also has a 115 horsepower Johnson motor.

According to Holly Muelhausen, the 50 minute ride around the 1900 acre lake will cost adults $2.25, senior citizens $1.75, and there will also be a special ride in early August when the Doodlebug will follow the Culver Military Academy boat Fowler on its moonlight serenade.

The boat uses about two and one half gallons of gas around the lake and can carry 36 people and two crew members.

It leaves the Culver marina Monday through Friday at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. and sunset with the exception of Wednesdays which will be reserved for parties and special engagements.

Saturday and Sunday and holidays the boat will leave at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. and sunset and again at 10:30 p.m.
