Howard Albert Local Resident DIes At age 64
Howard Glen ALbert, of 423 STate Streer, Culver, died Wednesday night, Dec. 21 at
Osteopathic Hospital South Bend, following an illness of several months.
Born at Hibbard Oct 25, 1896/ Mr. Albert spent his entire life in the Hibbard and Culver
community. He attended schoo at Hibbard and also attended SOuth Bend Business
Mr ALbert had farmed for a number of years and at the time of his illness he was employed
in the QIartermaster's Store at Culver Military Academy.
He was a veteran of World War I having served in the Navy from April 11, 1917 to July 31 1919.
On June 5, 1924, Mr. ALbert was married to Lillie Mae Snapp who passed away March 18 , 1939
On Sept 7, 1947 he married Mrs. Blanche DAvis who survives.
ALso surviving are three sons: Lr. (j.g.) Virgil Alberts in the Navy stationed at Newfoundland; Vance Albert
Hibbard and Vaughn ALbert, Indianapolis; a step-son DOnald Davis, Mishawaka; a sister Mrs; Ines
Lichtenbarger, South Bend, a brother Homer Alber, ROute 2 Culver; and 10 garndchildren.
Mr Albert was a charter member of the Hibbard E.U.B. Church and in 1948 transferred his church
membership to the Grace United Church of Chirst in Culver where services were held at 3 p.m.
Saturday Dec. 24, with the pastor Rev. Harold Hohman, officiating.
Burial was made at the Culver Masonic Cemetery.

Mrs Howard ALbert - LIllie Mar SNapp, daughter of Lilburn H. and Sarah E. SNapp, was born in
White county Ind., April 1, 1895, and departed this life March 18, 1939, age 43 years, 11 months, and
She attended elelmentary schools of White co., graduating from the Burnettsville High School. She did
some normal work, studied music and helped at home until 1920 when she took a course in the South
Bend School of Commerce. Following graduation she served as typewriting instructor in that
iinstitution forr a period of one year. SHe then served as stenographer at the Culver Military Academy
for four years.
In June 1924 she was united in marriage to Howard ALbert.
The balance of her file was spent with her family.
She was a member of the Hibbard Evangelical Church and while in her health was an eneetic worker in
chruch and community actvities.
Her leaving will deeply felt by the husband, three sons, Virgil, 12; Vance, 11; and Vaughn, 9; her
mother who has always been with her; two brothers: Glen of near Hibbard and oss of Whiting, Ind.,
and many other relatives and friends.
SHe was preceded in death by her father, s sister Pearle and a brother Fred whopassed on just 9
At this time it is hard to see who we can get along without her, but we trust that the God who saw
it best to take her will provide a way that those left can carry on.
