The way it was before 1957-1958. In the background is a view of the Dillion property on the south side of State Road 10 where the Culver Storage Units, the now empty motorcycle shop and the Ten Spot, now empty also is. The houses on the horizon is college Avenue homes.

1958 - Oct. 1991 Oscar R. and Lovinia (Newman) Wesson
They bought the ground from the Dillon family and built their home and business coming in off of the Newman farm south of town.

1958 - December 3 – Dr. Oscar Wesson opens newly built animal hospital…

D r . Oscar Wesson, local veterinarian, has recently completed his new animal hospital at the southwest corner of the intersection of state Roads 17 and 10.

Lovinia had a beautiful garden each year - the one rememberance was there was this plant with these very long lucious very pretty bright red pods on them, they were so very tempting - not knowing what they really were only that they were growing in a garden with other vegetables that was edible I picked just one of them and sunk my teeth into it! Instantly my mouth began to burn I ran as fast as my feet would travel and with our little red wagon trailing behind me full of the turnips that I had pulled out of the field to the flowing well that sat near the road where the pine trees that now line the property line of the Town & Country [whether the flowing well is still there or if if has been capped off is unknown]- to try and quench the burning - only the ice cold water from the flowing well intensified the burning - eventually it subsided. No, I have never admitted to the deed before now to anyone - it was a lesson well learned. If Lovinia ever knew that I had pilfered one of her of the pods I have no idea - but you can bet I never touched another!
