Lloyd E Hawkins Dies FOllowing Long Illness

Lloyd E. Hawkins, 81 , 446 State St., Culver, died at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, at the Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester, following an illness of three years. Mr. Hawkins was born i n Starke County on Feb. 18, 1884, and lived on a farm in Starke County until moving to Culver in 1959. He was married July 8, 1914, in St. Joseph, Mich., to Ruby Lunsford, who survives with two sons, Robert L. Hawkins and Dr. Glen E. Hawkins, both of South Bend; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Worner, Indianapolis , and Mrs. Fern Lewis, Culver; a brother, Elza 11. Hawkins, Culver; two sisters, Mrs. Matilda Norris and Mrs. Lottie Marshall , both of Culver; nine grand children and five great grandchildren. A son, Edward, preceded him in death in 1953. Funeral services were held at the Culver Grace United Church of Christ, at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, with the pastor, Rev. Harold H ohman, officiating. Burial followed in the Culver Masonic Cemetery.
