    We have With us Today....

Russell Easterday, manager of the CUulver Office of the James I Barnes Construction Co., was studing a set of blueprints when the Citizen photographer caught him in the act.

As he is supervising the constsruction of six buildings, most of them schools and post offices, at this time he has a pile of blueprints at his elbow most of the time. Russell was born in Union township, about one-half mile north of Culver and attended the local grade school and high school.

He also took advanced work at Munice Normal School.

For two years he taught in the Maxinkuckee and SIckman schools, but he doesn't believe that had anything to do with the fact that both have since passed out of existence. For three years he taught in the Culver school, after which he was a farmer for two years.

Russell then took up carpentering, working for Mr. Barnes and his father.

In 1926 he became manager of the Culver office of the Barnes Company, the position he has held successfully ever since.
