1938 June 15 - Tags make This Fish Worth $50.00 -
Members of the Macinkuckee Fish and Game Club are shown tagging a fish, thus
making it worth $50, which sum will be given to the person catching the finny
member. There are two tags on he fish, whch has been named "Happie De". After
being tagged the fish was taken to the middle of the lake and realeased so that
there is no telling in what part of the lake "Happie Dae" will be found.
So far six fish have been tagged, but the numer will be increased this week. Besides
the $50 fish there are five bearing identifying tags entitling the person who catch
them to $5.00.

1938 - Jul 20 Peru Fisherman Snags First Tagged $5 Fish
R. RIchardson, of Peru, has probably had many a thriill as a fisherman, but
none exceed his experience when he caught the first fish tagged by the
Maxinkuckee FIsh and Game Club.
The Bass, wighing two and a quater pounds, was caught Saturday
afternoon with surface bait in the ice house bay. It had been liberated five
weeks ago in the middle of the lake.
This leaves 20 of the tagged fish at large -
five bluegills bearing $5 rewards each,
four bas woth the same amount, and
one Bass nameed "Happie Dae"with a $50 bounty on him
