Present 1950 "Oscars" for Outstanding Acting at the Playhouse Tonight

THanks to the gerenosity of Don Trone of Culver, the Maxinkuckee Players not to be outdone by Hollywood, will have their ove coveted awards.

The annual PLayhouse "Oscars" will be appropriately known as the "Macs"

The presentation of the 1950 "Mac's" at the PLayhouse will be made following this evening's performance of "Golden Boy", the last play of the current season.

The "Mac's" donated to the PLayhouse by DOn Trone of CUlver, are to be presented to the actor and actress in the company who have consistently done the most outstanding work over the period of the ten-week season, from June 27th until the final week of the PLayhouse.

The committee of five which will select the recipients of the trophies is made up of: Martin Tahse and Paul Rutledge, Directors of the Playhouse, Mr. and Mrs. Heinz Pabst, chaperon-advisors of the company; and one member of the cast who is to be voted to the postion by the other actor and actresses. - Aug. 30 1950






Paul Laumman and Nancy Todd WIn "Osacrs"

Paul Laumann and Nancy Todd won the coveted "Oscars renamed "Mac's", at the Maxinkuckee Playhouse Wedensday evening.

Hailed as finest actor of the season, Mr. Laumann played the lead role inall of the shows, save one, presented during the season

Ajudged the finest actress, Miss TTod played the lead in all but four of the plays. She is indeed a very fine actress with a background of radio experience and training in motion pitcutre.

The presentation of the "Mac's" followed Wednesday night's performance of "Golden Boy", the last play of the current season. The trophies were dontaed by DOn Trone of CUlver.

They were presented "to the actor and actress who have consistently done the most outstanding work over the period of the ten week season, from June 27 until the final week of the season
