"Born Yesterday" Current Attraction At Playhouse

"Born Yesterday", the fun-filled, laugh=loaded comedy that kept Broadway in stiches for season after season, has moved into the Maxinkuckee Playhouse for this week's run and will remain through Sunday.

The Playhouse is one of the first companies to which the play has been released, and "Born Yesterday" will be seem for the firth time in INdiana on their stage.

A fast-moving comedy of Washington and plictics, "Born Yesterday", is the story of a junkman, once only a small time operator but now working in the larger circles, who comes to Washiingrton to corner the scrap-metal marker in Europe.

With him iis his girl, Billie Dawn, a ex-chorus girl of a Broadway musical; in order to mingle with the "just-right" of the captial city, Brock fels that his girl must be educated, and he entrusts her to a newpaper man who is to teach her all the necessary manners and social rights of society

Litle doe he realice what the outcome will be for once gets an education, BIllie turns against Brock and the entire crooked world for which he stands.

But "Born Yesterday" is not as serious as it may sound. It has been baned, along with three other plays, as the outstanding comedy of the century.

Sey the reviewers" "Born Yesterday" is to be seen, read, and remembered for alot of tommorrows. Rare amoung dramas, it is gay, evetertaining theater, with hilariuos situations and laghter-provoking lines, but redeemed from mere frivolity by its imporance. The them will always be interesting as long as a few people try to get ahead by stepping on alot of other people.

The Playuhouse has assembled a stellar cast for their production. Viea Messham, Burt ane, Paul Lauman, and Thoma Edwards hace he four major roles. Others in the cast include Herb Johnson, Ardyth Lahrman and Him Hoeffler.
