1955 - Sixth Season



New Plant To Be Opened In June By Acting Company At Maxinkuckee

A BRAND NEW theater building is what this year's resident members of the Maxinkuckee Playhouse in Culver will have to look forward to when the season opens June 2.

This summer theater now entering its sixth season Is operated by Paul Rutledge, director of the Mummers Guild at the University of Cincinnati.

The opening production is to be "The Fourposter" and will feature Sally Noble and Tom Burke, U. C. students.

Others from Cincinnati are:

    Kent Guthrie returning for his second season;
    Bob Moak, returning for his fifth;
    Betty Rebholz, Miami,
    Nancy Mosher, U. C;. and
    David Hager, former U. C. student, second year, and serving as assistant manager.


OTHER plays on the schedule this summer include,
    "Time Out For Ginger" June 28 July 3.
    "Stalag 17" July 5-July 10.
    "Sabrina Fair" July 12 July 17.
    "The Country Girl" July 19 July 24.
    H. M. S. Pinafore" July 26 July 31.
    "Picnic" August 2 August 7.
    "The Hasty Heart" August 9 August 14.
    "The Corn Is Green" August 16 August 21.
    "The King Of Hearts" August 23 August 28
    "My Three Angels" August 30-Sept
    "Green Grow The Lillies" Sept 6-Sept 10


MR. RUTLEDGE will direct some of the shows, and Wayne Greerv. director at Walnut Hills High School and head of the Speech Department, will direct "The Hasty Heart" and "The Corn Is Green"

During the last five years more Cincinnati students have been resident members of the Maxinkuckee Playhouse than any other similar theatrical company.

Although the Playhouse is some 200 miles from Cincinnati, many people from Greater Cincinnati Area visit at Lake Maxinkuckee.
