The History is found in the Mar 2 1949 Issue of the Culver Citizen as follows:
The cornerstone for the
Maxinkuckee Christian Church was laid in 1888.
In 1914 the Methodist Protestant bought the church building and have continued use of the building until
union with the Methodist Episcopal church. The Methodist church, south, and the Methodist Protestant
church in May, 1939. Since that time it has been known as the Maxinkuckee Methodist church.
1914 - Oct 15 - Dedicatory Services
The Maxinkuckee Methodist Protestant church will be dedicated next Sunday morning, Oct. 18.
Rev. W. W. Lineberry, D. D. of Elkhart, Ind., will preach Saturday evening at 7:00, Sunday
morning at 10:00 and Sunday evening will be the reception of new members into the church and
the administration of The Lords Supper.
Miss Bigley of Maxinkuckee will give a recitation Sunday morning and Miss English of Indianapolis
will sing at each of these services. Other special music is provided.

Mrs. John Whittaker.
Mrs. Lee Wynn is the present conference laymember with Mrs. Lettie Overmyer as the alternate.
Stewards include: Nick Carpenter, Mrs. Lettie Overmyer, John Bigley, Mrs. Jay Castle, Mrs. Lee Wynn,
Miss Nellis Savage, ENoch Andrews, recording and Mrs. John Whittaker.
Other officers are Mrs. Lettie Overmyer, church teasurer; Enoch Andrew, church dchool superintendent;
Everett Wynn, church school sectretary; Mrs. Alta Whittaker, W. S. C. S. president, and Mrs. Jay Castle,
district Missionary Society representative.
CHurch is Dedicated
The work on the Maxinkuckee Methodist Protestant church being finished at a cost in cash and labor of
$1,610, it was dedicated on SUnday.
The service began on Saturday evening and consisted of speical music and semon. On Suday at 10 o'clock a
fine congregationa assembled.
Rev. A L Vermillion, paston, conducted the services. A fine program of speical music and scripture reading
was given, the following ministers takign part: Revs. W W Lineberry, D D, J W ALbright, S C Norris and A L
Vermillion. A solo was sung by Miss English.
The dedicatory sermon, which was a most excellent discourse, was delivered by Dr. Kineberry, president of
the Indiana conference.
Yhe trustees announced the building was clear of debt. The church was then formally dedicated unto the
Lord by D.r Lineberry of Elkhart.
