Oscar D. Bohlen  

Oscar D. Bohlen attended private schools also the Shortridge High School of Indianapolis, and took his technical work in the Boston Institute of Technology. He entered the office of his father in 1882 and in 1884 the firm of D. A. Bohlen and Son was created, and later he succeeded to the business without changing the name. Without attempting anything like a complete list the following examples of his work will indicate its scope and character. He was the architect of the Indiana National Bank Building, of St. John's Church, the Majestic building, all at Indianapolis, and has furnished plans and supervision for many business and public buildings throughout the state. Mr. Bohlen is a republican in politics.

January 12, 1886 at Indianapolis, he married Miss Amelia Kuhn. They have two children: August C., born August 2, 1887; and Cora P., who was educated in the Academy of St. Mary's and finishes her education in Europe. The son, August, attended the public schools of Indianapolis, is a graduate of Cornell University, and upon his graduation entered the firm of D. A. Bohlen & Son, of which his father was the sole owner. In 1917 he was commissioned a lieutenant and in 1918 promoted to the captaincy in the American army, being assigned to overseas duty is the Heavy Ordnance Department.
