Guard Rails Now Form Protection For Cottagers
Mr. N. J. Busuart has just completed substantial guard rails at the driveway
over the Overmyer creek on the south side of the lake.
This provides one of the finest drives through the woods around the laks and
presents a very romantic and attractive view of a shady winding road on a
hot summe day.
Those who use this road will appreicate the added safety these guard rails '
provide. There has been a very rapid delevopment of interest in this past
of the lake frontage the last year of two.
Two of the best artesian wells on the lake shore were brought in there last
year.; one by Mr. Russell Fisher at his picturesque log cabin home and the
other by Mr. John Beck and Mrs. Adolph Muessell of South Bend.
Other houses on this part of the lake front whose owners use the bridge over
Overmyer creek are
J. W. Harrison , who has built there one of the largest and best houses
on the lake.
Mr. W. W. Rankin, Cleveland, Ohio.,
Mr. Geo. H. Thayer, Jr. Plymouth,
Dr. C. L. Slonaker,
Mr. Harry Medbourn
and several others.
The 1908 & 1922 plat maps gives some of the names mentioned
at the "very south end" of the lake. This area was formerly the Farrar land
holdings and commonly refered to as "Farrar's Woods.
