    The Overmyer mill at the corner of the Railroad Road and Mill St. has been torn down by its owner, George W. Overmyer. The mill was about 40 Years old, and at one time has the mecca for farmers in this vicinity."

    "Final rites for George Overmyer, 78, of near Culver, were held Saturday at the Easterday funeral home, Culver.

    Mr. Overmyer, who resided alone, died of a heart attack, presumably suffered early last Thursday.

    He was born at Burr Oak, Dec. 25, 1877. Practically all his life had been spent in Culver and vicinity. He was past master of Culver Masonic Lodge and was Culver postmaster from 1921 to 1929.

    Survivors are a son, Clifford Overmyer, R.R. 2, Rochester; two daughters, Mrs. Alice McLane and Violet Overmyer, both of Culver; a sister, Mrs. Alice Beatty, Plymouth; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren."

    He was the son of Franklin and Susannah (Burkett) Overmyer and was born 25 Dec 1877 in Burr Oak, Union Twp, Marshall County, Indiana, and died 7 MAR 1956 in Culver , Marshall County, Indiana.

    He was buried in the Culver Cemetery (Olde Town), Culver , Marshall County, Indiana.

    Mrs. Orpha L. Overmyer, 71, wife of George W. Overmyer, died Monday afternoon at her home north of Culver on State Road 17, after an illness of several months.

    Widely known throughout this community, Mrs. Overmyer was born at her present home on April 16, 1878.

    With the exception of a few years spent in Chicago and Wheaton, Ill., she lived her entire life in this community.

    She was a member of the graduating class of 1899 of the Burr Oak School and she and other members of the small class taught by J. F. Behmer had maintained an active association.

    Mrs. Overmyer was a member of the Methodist church and the Culver City Club.

    Surviving with her husband are two daughters, Mrs. Alice McLane of Culver and Miss Violet Overmyer at home: one son, Clifford L. Overmyer, of Rochester, two sisters, Mrs. Eleanor Gould, Grand Junction, Colo., and Mrs. Edwinna McFarland, Cisco, Utah; one brother, Winfield Scott McFarland, Culver; four grandchildren and one great grandchild and a host of friends.

    Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Wednesday at the Methodist church with Rev. Quentin Hand officiating.

    Burial will be at Culver Masonic Cemetery - Citizen Mar 29, 1950
