We have With us Today....
Mr. Carter had to stop rolling his lawn when the citizen photographer got in his path,
but he doesen't look very unhappy over the resutling rest.
He was born in bismark, Ill., but spent most of his early years at Alvin, Ill. He was quite
a ball player in his younger days and eventually was a catcher on the Danville team of
the 2-eye league.
During the war he was in charge of the tool room of the American Car and Foundry
Company at Detriot, and for 15 years was connected with the wholesale deptarments
of mayonnaise and bakery companies.
Mr. Culver moved to Culver for years ago and is now dividing his time looking after
interests in Kalamazoo, Alvin and Culver.
When in ALvin he lives with his mother and tries his had at farming
Altough he has lived in a number of cities Mr. Carter declares he likes Culver the best
of all.
His biggest problem here is trying to keep his mail and other affairs straight since there
is another Ernest Carter in town.
