Lake Maxinkuckee Its Intrigue History & Genealogy Culver, Marshall, Indiana

Harold D Davis

It just wouldn' t be natural to have a picture of Harold Davis without a Ford automobile around, for most of his business life has been connected with that car.

He has been selling automobles for 12 years for the A. R. McKesson Ford Agency, after two years experience in the mechanical department

During that time he estimates he has sold around 1,500 vechiles, which if all assembled at once in Culver would form quire a traffic jam.

These cars if placed bumper to bumper would cover 75 blocks or if started at the top of Bunker Hill would form a solid tring, two abreast, down Lake Shore Drive to Main Street and down Main street to Evangelical church corner over to Ohio Streetm then north to School Street and on to College Avenue hence back to top of Bunker Hill.

If you do not believe these figures try it yourself with 1,500 automoniles.

Mr. Davis was born in Fulton county near Rochester, but came here when four years old, so his schooling was all in this community.

He was a member of the Culver Fire Department at one time and is now recording secretary of the Maxinkuckee Odd Fellow Lodge.

He qualifes several times for membership in the Ford Producers Club, which is based on the number of cars sold.

His hobby is the raising of livestock on the farm where he resides at the southeast corner of Lake Maxinkuckee.
