Harry C. Wise

We have With us Today....

Harry C. Wise retired with pension December 31, as telegraph operator at the Hibbard station for the Nickel

He started railroading 44 years ago with the Chicago and Erie at Polk, O. and has been with the Nickel Plate for 39 years.

He came Hibbard in August 1919. During his years at the telegraph key he has never had any of the unsual experiences that telegraphers some times encounter, but never the less the handling of trains, messages and the travelling public always held a fascination for him.

He plans to devote all his time to his farm between Culver and Hibbard, though it probably will be some time before he quits wondering if Number Four is on time and the signals are set properly for a Pennsylvania train to clatter safely over the Nickel Plate Crossing
