Dow Rectoe Passes Away, Illness Brief


Was 53 Years of Age

Had Spent Practically All of HIs Life In Vicinity of Maxinkuckee

The community was shocked to learn of the death of Dow E. Rector, aged 53 years, well known resident of Maxinkuckee Landing.

He passed away Thursday afternoon, June 19, after a few days illness due to kidney and bladder infection and heart trouble

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Easterday chapel in Culver.

Interment followed at Maple Grove cemetery at Argos.

Rev. Heitz of the M. P. church officiated and the music was furnished by the Poplar Grove male quartet.

Mr. Rector had been in about his usual health until Monday night, it is stated when pain started in his abdomen. Doctors were called over his protests Tuesday morning and they immediately recongnized the gravity of his condition. From that time until his death he sufferd intense pain, embolisms being the final factor.


Dow E Rector, son of L. E. and Sarah Rector, was born in Ottumwa, Iowa, April 15, 1877.

When he was five years of age he came to Indiana with his parents and from that time until his death practically all of his life was spent near Lake Maxinkuckee.

On Auust 31, 1898 he was untied in marriage with Miss Matilda Worthington who passed away, July 5, 1923. One child was born to this wunion, Mrs. Helen Rinkle, now living in Orleans, In.

On May 1, 1925, he was married to Mrs. Georgia Riggs, one child, Sarah Elizabeth was born to this union.

He leaves to mourn his departure his widow, two daughters, one stepson, Ronald Riggs; two grandchildren; one brother Nathan W. Rector of Culver; and two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Garver of near Santa Ann and Mrs Ida Parker of Maxinkuckee - - 25 Junj 1930 Citizen
