193 - Sout Organizations Need Financial Aid
Last year the W. A. Fleet Post of the American Legion conducted six entertainments for the benefit of the Boy and Girl Scouts. These events were well patronized, but the cost of conducting them absorbed a third of the gross income.

The Legion committee in charge this year, recognizing that better entertainment than the Post could possibly furnish, can be bought for twenty-five cents in any movie theatre. has decided to discontinue these events for this purpose.

Money to keep these boy and girl organizations functioning is necessary, however, and the committee has decided to make a public appeal to all of the citizens of the community for an outright money donation, to cover the operating expenses for 1938.

Both the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts are functioning in a highly satisfactory manner at this time under highly competent leadership. It is hoped that these organizations can continue SO in the future.

The Legion, therefore, is making a direct appeal to all adult members of the community for a money donation. It is not necessary to actually send in money at this time. All we want is an indication that you are willing to help us through the year, and in what amount.

Checks should be made out to the W. A. Fleet Post, American Legion, and sent to Col. Robert Rossow, chairman Boy Scout Committee.

If you care to merely indicate your willingness at this time, and pay later, send a note to Col. Rossow, with date, or dates, that you will make a contribution indicated.

COL. ROBERT ROSSOW, Chairman Boy and Girl Scout Committee, W. A. Fleet Post.
