We have been to Lake Maxinkuckee almost as recently as Winona and therefore naturally compare the places in some respects. There is more wealth displayed at Maxinkuckee than at Winona. One can see more gorgeous sport clothes and more diamond rings and platinum brooches at Lake Maxinkuckee in a day than you can see at Winona in a month. At Maxinkuckee, one also sees a REAL lake, whose shores are not entirely usurped by summer residences, and scenery such as Winona knows not of. So both of these places—Winona and Culver have attractions but when speaking of Winona I prefer not to think of the lake—^just the people there and the splendid entertainment brought there by Winona Assembly...
