Cavalier Drive
Some time before Aril 27, 2018 - An announcement for suggestions for a name for the new streert off
of West Jefferson was made
On April 27, it was announced the five finalists were:
1 - Vonnegut Lane - In honor of one of Culver's most famous summer residents and families, author Kurt
Vonnegut
2 - Cavalier Drive - Refering to the public school mascot for the Culver Community Schools, as this street
will terminate near Culver Middle Schhool.
3 - Porter Drive - In honor of one of the town's longest tenured employees utility superintendent Bob
Porter, who has been consistently been dedicated to improving the community during his twenty plus
years of service
4 - Maxinkuckee Lane - Recognizing the name of the second largest natural lake in Indiana
5 - Pokagon Trail - Recongnizing the Native America heritage of the area, the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi
Indiana that were based throughout southwest Michigan and Northern Indiana, including Culver and Lake

Votes were to be submitted in writing/e-mail and one per person. Submissions were accepted until Monday,
May 7, 12 p.m. and the winner would be announced at the May 8th Town board meeting.
