1936 - Jul 8 - Workmen have been widening School Street along the school grounds

1941 - Apr. 23 - A proposal to pave School Street was considered by the town dads after a report was made that property owners along the part of street concerned are in favor of the project. Steps are being taken to get the signatures and complete the other nevcessary preliminary steps.

1942 - Jan 7 - Artery from Town To State Road 10 to be Improved

    The road that runs from School Street north to Road 10 is to be widened and resurfaced is was announces Monday at the meeting og the Chamber of Commerce in Snyder's cafe.

    Land has been purchased on the west side from the jog to the stater road, giving a 60-foot tight-of-way.

    The community spirity of Leander Easterday and the Garn family made it possible for the necessary land to be purchased through the Chamber of Commerce.

    A petition containing the names of a large number of local citizens was presented to the county commissioners asking that the road be put on their 1942 improvement program, and the request was granted.

    This elimination of the bottlelneck on School street and the providing of a good road to town from Road 10 will be of untold value to the community in the future, and the Chamber of Commerce is to be congragtulated on its leardship...
