1936 - Sep 16 - An ad dated has Jack Harris associated with the taxi

    1938 - Mar. 30 -Jack Harris Succimbs After Stroke Last Week

    John Franklin (Jack) Harris, age 68. doed at his home Tuesday evening. He had been in poor health for over a yeat and last Wednesday suffered a stroke that left him unconscous.< He had been downtown the day before and appeared to be well on the way to recovery.

    He was born in Pennsylvania and came to Culver in 1917. He was a member of the Knights and Ladies of Security Lodge in Terrie Haute. For many years he followed the meat marketing trade, but for the past few years had operated a taxi business.

    Surviving are the widow, Mary Margaret Harries; three sister, Mrs. Adah Yates and Mrs. James E. Harris of Washington D. C. and Mrs. T. W. Williams of Baltimore; on brother Alonzo of Washington D.C.

    Funeral services will be held at the Easterday Chapel on Friday at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Richard Pengilly officiating.

    Interment will be in the Culver Masonic Cemetery.

    John Wagner announces that he has purchased the taxi fprmerly operated by Jack Harries, effective May 1st it will contnue to be known as Jack's Taxi

    Sells Taxi Business -

    Jack Wagoner, operator of Jack's Taxi for the past 11 years has sold his business to Henry HInkle and Dan Weirick.

    Mr. Hinkle will continue as manager of the Marathon Service Station it was explained

    Dan Weirick, who has been located in Bremen for the past twelve years was formerly employed by NIPSCO her in Culver. Other than a brief vacation Mr. Wagner's future plans are indefinite.


1949, Mar - 1963 - Henry Hinckle  
    1963 - Apr 24 - Mr. and Mrs. Thomas K. Walker have purchased Jack's Taxi, at 108 E. Washington St., from Henry Hinkle, who owned and operated the company for the past 15 years. Mr. and Mrs. Hinkle will devote full time to the Ideal Cleaners which they recently purchased.

    1963 April 24 The Tom Walker's Purchase Jack's Taxi Business

    Mr. and Mrs. Thomas K. Walker, W 17th Road, Culver have purchased Jack's Taxi at 108 E. Washington St., f rom Henry Hinkle, who has owned and operated the company for the past 16 years.

    Mr. Walker, who has been self-employed, took over manafement of the business on Manday and announces that he plans no change of policy and will endeavor to give the same cheerful and courteous service as in the past.

    Mr. Walker, who is employed at the Culver Military Academy Tailor shop, will not be assoicated with the business at the present time, and Mrs. Blanche WOlldridge will continue to work in the office of the Taxi stand.

    Mr. and Mrs Hinkle will devote full time to the Ideal Cleaners, which they recently purchased.
