	Culver City Ind. Jan 4" 1896 Be it remembered tat the Town Board of the town of Culver City (formerly Marmont) met on the 4' day of January 1896 at 7 Oclock P. M. Presnt at the meeting Trustees J ames H. Castlelman and D. G. Walter and E. W. Geislelman. Minutes of previous meeting were read and approved. The following bill was presented and ordered paid. Marmont Ind. Dec 25" 1896 Common Council to Geo. Nearpass Dr. for printing Dyptheria notices $1.50 On motion which was duly seconded and carried said bill was allowed and ordered paid. 	Culver City Ind. Jan 12 1897 Be it remembered that the Town Board of the town of Culver City (Formerly Marmont) met on the 12" day of January 1897 at 7 oclock P.M. Presnet at said meeting Trustees James H Castleman D. G. Walter and E. W. Geiselman. Minutes of previous meeting were read and approved. The following bill was presented Culver City Ind Jan 12 1897 Common COuncil to John Osborn Dr. for room rent $2.00 On motion which was duly seconded and carried said bill was allowed and ordered paid. And be i further remembered that a motion was made by Trustee Walter which motion was duly seconded by Trustee Geiselman that Samul Ulery be appointed Secretary of the Board of Health, to have and to hold said office for one year or until his successor is duly appointed and qualified The yeas and nays were taken on said motion and Trustee Walter and Geiseleman voted in the affirmative and the President James H declared said motion carried And be it further rememdered that in motion which duly seconded and carried the clerk was instructed to draw an order in gavor of Thomas Medbourndor S3.50 payment in full for services as Secretay of the Board of Health. 	Culver City Ind. Feb 15: 1897 Be it remembered that the Town Board of the town of Culver City (formerly Marmont) met in regular session on the 15th day of February 1897 at 7 Oclock P. M. Present at said meeting James H. Castleman, D. G. Walter and E. W. Geiselman, Trustees of said town. Minutes of previous meeting were read and approved. The following bills were presented and odered paid. Culver City Ind. Feb 15" 1897 Town Board to E. N. Vanschoiack Dr. for 7 yds. Calico .42cts. On motion which was duly seconded and carried said bill was allowed and ordered paid. Culver City Ind. Dec 28" 96 Culver City to T. B. HArris Dr for lumber $ 3.50 On motion which was duly seconded said billl was allowed and ordered paid. And be it further reemberd that Samuel Ulery presented his certificate of appointment as Secretary of the BOard of Healt of the Town of Culver City and his oath of office thereunto attached and on motion which was duly seconded and carried said certificate and oath of office were ordered made a part of the record and are in the words and figures following towit: Certificate of Appointment Culver City, Ind Jan. 18" 1897 This is to certify that Samuel Ulery a resident of the Town of Culver City was ion the 18: day of January 1897 dully appointed Secretary of the Board
	of Health of the Town of Culver City Indiana by the Board of Trustees of said town to have and to hold said office for one year or until his successor is duly appointed and qualified. Attest F. L. 	Culver City Ind. April 5" 1897 Be it remembered that the Town Board of the town of Culver City (Formerly Marmont) met in regular session of the 5th day of APril 1897 at 7 Oclock P. M. Present at said meeting Trustees James H. Castleman D. G. Walter and E. W. Geiselman And be it further remembered that the folllowing petition was presented by the Culver Military Academy for permission to place telephone poles within the limits of Culver City and to place wires thereon for telephone purposes to connect said academy and the store of Porter and company in Culver City formerly called Marmont which petition is in the words and figures following towit: Culver City Ind. April 4" 1897 To the Board of Trustees Culver City Ind. Gentlemen We the under signed respectfully petition your honorable body for permission to run a telephone wire or wires along the right-of-way of the Terre Haute and Indianapolis Railroad Company if permission of said Company be first obtained to a point within said town neat J. B. Hariss saw mill and from that point we ask the privilege from your onorable body to place poles along th streets from thence to the stor of Porter and Company and to stretch thereon telephone wires fro telephone puporses and to be permitted to use and operate telephones from said store to the Culver Academy. signed C. M. A. per ? And thereupon the following resolution was introduced and read by Trustee D. G. Walter. Whereas it appears that a petition has been presented to this board
	by the Military Academy asking permission to form telephone communication betwee said Academy and the store of Porter and Company and to stretch wires and erect poles within the coporate limits of Culver City as therein set forth. Therefore be it resolved by the Board of Trustees of Culver Indiana that permission be and is hereby granted to said Military Academy to stretch wire or wires along the right-of-way of the Terre Haute and Indianapolis Railroad Company provided always that said company consents thereto for telephone purposes to a point near the saw mill property of T. B. Harris and thence to erect poles along the streets of said town to the store of Porter and Company and to place wires there on for pelephone purposes between purposes said store and said Academy. Porvided however that this privelge and concession is given to said Military Academy subject to the rights of the Plymouth Telephone Company to use said streets and said Academy shall so place its poles and wires and aparatus as not to form an obstruction to the wires, poles or apparatus of the siad Plymouth Telephone Company. And said Trustee moved the the adoption of said resolution as read. ANd the ayes and nays were taken theron. Trustees Walter and Geisleman voting in the affirmative and th President of said board James H. Castleman declared said resolution passed and adopted. And be it further remembered that on motion which was duly seconded and crried it was decided to purchase
	three road scrapers and one iron beam plow of Henry Overman and on motion which was duly seconded and carried the clerk was instructed to draw an order in favor of said Overmand for the sum of $15.00 Be it further remembered that a motion was made by Trustee Geiselman which motion was duly seconded by Trustee Walter that George W. Voreis be appointed as INspector of an election to be held May 3rd 1897. The nays and yaes were taken upon said motion. Trustees Walter and Geisleman voting in the affirmative and the President of said Board James H. Castleman declared said motion carried. And be it further remembered that on motion the clerk was authorized to procure election supplies for the election to me held May 3rd 1897 On motion said board adjourned Attest F. L. Carl, Clerk J. 	Culver City Ind. April 19 1897 Be it remembered that the Town Board of the town of Culver City (formerly Marmont) met in regular session on the 19" day of APril 1897 at 7 Oclocl P.M. Present at said meeting Trustees James H.Castlelman and D. G. Walter. Minutes of previus meeting readand approved On motion which was duly seconded and carried the clerk was instructed to draw an order in favor of Henry Zechiel for the amount of $5.00 the same to pay for an outlet. 	Culver City Ind. May 6"1897 Beit remembered that the Town Board of the town of Culver City (formerly Marmont) met in special session on the 6th day of May 1897 in response to the following notice Notice ToD G Walter and E W Geiselman that a special meeting og the Board of trustees of the town of Culver City Indiana will be held at the office of the Town Turstees in said town on the 6th day of May 1897 at 7 Oclick P.M. for the purpose of confirming the election of and accepting the bonds of the lately elected town officers and to transact general business. 	Culver CIty Ind. May 17" 1897 Be it remembered that the Town Board of the town of Culver City Indiana met in regular sessionon the 17" day of May 1897 at 7 Oclock P.M. Present at said meeting James H. Castleman, Abraham Hayes and Albert A. Keen Trustees of said town. Board was organized by electing James H Castleman President Minutes of previous meeting were read and approved The followinig biills were presented and ordered paid Culver Ind. May 17" 1897 Culver City to Geo. Nearpass Dr. for printing financial report ffor the year ending May 2nd 1897 $6.75 On motion which was duly seconded and carried said bill was allowed and ordered paid. Culver City Ind. 	Culver City Ind June 7" 1897 Be it remembered that the town board of the town of Culver City Indiana met on the 7" day of Jun 1897 at 7 Oclock P.M. Present at said meeting James H. Castleman Abraham Hayes and Alber G. Keen Trustees of said town. Minutes of previous meeting were read and approved And be it further remembered that the following resolution was presented and read by F. L. Carl Clerk of said town Resolved by the Town Trustees of Culver City Indiana that the right is hereby given to the Central Union Telephone Company, its sussessors and assigns to place and maintain upon the highsways of said Town, the poles, wires and fixtures necessary and conovenient for supplying to the public communications by telephone or other improved electrical device; provided that at no time shall any such public highways be obstructed for ptravel. Provided further that the town shall have the right to attach fire alarm and police wires to the top cross arm of all poles erected under this resolution an said wires to be erected under the direction of the Telephone company's Superintindent and in such manner as not to interfere with the proper working of said company;s wires. And it was moved by ALbert G. Keen which motion was seconded by Abraham Hayes that said resolution be passed and adopted as read. The ayes and nays were taken on said motion, Trustees Keen and Hayes voting in the affirmative and the prpresident of said Board James H. Castleman dieclared said motion carried and said resolution

May 20" 1897 Culver City to Boreis & RHodes Dr for Tilre 42.50 On motion which was duly seconded and carried said bill was allowed and ordered paid ,br> Culver City Ind. June 7" 1897 Town Board to J. K. Mawhorter Dr for Dpeuty Police $1.50 for making ? .40 cts total $1.80 On motion which was duly seconded and carried said bill was allowed and ordered paid And be it further remembered that the said board selected and appointed J. H. Koonty as School trustee to have and to hold said office for the term of three years or untill his successor is elected and qualified And be it further remembered that Trustee Albert G. Keen presented the following ordinance being Ordinance No. 11. An ordinance authorizing the Marshal to appoint one or more dputies wher nescessary Sec. 1 - Be it ordained by the Board of Trustees of the incoporated town of Culver City Indiana that that the Marshall of said town is hereby authorized to appoint one deputy at the expenses of the town and as many more at his own expense as in his judgement it seems necessary Sec. 2 - Whereas an emergency exists for the immediate taking effect of this ordinance the same shall be in force from and after its passage. Attest F. L. Carl, Clerk. And it was moved by trustee ALber A. Keen which motion was also duly seconded by Trustee Abraham Hayes that ordianance be place upon its final passage at its first reading. 	Albert A Keen, Abraham Hayes and JAmes H. Castleman voted in the affirmative and the president James H Castleman declared said motion carried. It was then moved by Trustee Albert A Keen which motion was also duly seconded by Trustee Abraham Hayes that said ordinanace be passed and adopted as read. The yaes and nays were taken upon said motion andupon roll call Trustees Albert A Keen Abraham Hayes and Janes H Castleman voted in the ffirmative and the President James H Castleman declared said motion carried and said ordance passed and adopted as read. June 21: 1897 We the undersigned interested parties respectfully petition to the honorable board of the incoporated town of Culver City, Ind. for extension of sidewalk on the east side of Main Street from the south line of H. G. Cooks lot to connect with walk on Main Street at Urias Mensers Hardware. W. H. WIlson S. Fairbanks Urias Nemser Wm. Overman Motion made by Albert A. 	And be it further remembered that on motion which was dul seconded and carried the clerk was instructed to draw orders for the different town officers salaries. And be it further remembered that Trustee ALber A Keen presented and read the following ordiance fixing the levy for taxes of said town for the year 1897. An ordinance fixing then tax levy of te Town of CUlver City Ind. for the year 1898 which ordianace is No. 13. Be ir ordained by the Board of Trustees of the Town of Culver City Indiana that the followoing levy of taxes be and is herby made for the year 1898 for said town towit: For Corporatin purposes on each $100 valuation of the taxable property in said town FOrty cents and on each poll Twenty five ents. On each #100.00 valuation of the taxable property property of said Town for road purposes Twenty FIve cents. WHereas an emergency exists for the immediate taking effect of this ordinance it shall therefore be in force and effect from and after passage. James H. Castleman A. Keen moved that this same be placed upon its fianl passage which motion was fuly seconded by Trustees Abraham Hates abd tge ayes and nayes were taken upon said motion and upon roll call Trystees Keen & Hayes voted in the affirmative and the president James H. Castleman declared saud motion carried
	It was then moved by said Trusteess Keen that said ordinance be passed and adopted as read which motion was duly seconded by Trustee Hayes. The ayes and nays were taken upon said motion and upon roll call Trustees Keen & Hayes voted in the affirmative and the President of said Boar James H. Castleman declared said motion carried and said ordinance passed and apopted as read It was then moved that the bill of John Osborn of $15.00 for damages be laid on the table until next meeting night which motion was duly sconded and carried On motion said board adjourned attest F. 	Culver City Indiana Aug 16" 1897 Be it remembered that the town Board of the town of Culver City Indiana met in regular session on the 16th day of August 1897 at 7 Oclock P.M. Present at said meeting James H. Castleman Abraham Hayes & Albert A. Keen trustees of said town. The following bill was presented and ordered paid. CUlver CIty Ind. July 31" 1897 Culver City to D. H. Smith Dr for Six days labor on streets $9.00 On motion said bil was allowed and ordered parid Bill of JOhn Osborn for damages $15.00 was taken from table and on motion which motion was duly seconded and carried was laid on table untill next meeting night Abe be it further remembered that on motion by trustee ALbert A Keen which motion was duly seconded trustee Abraham Hayes the services of V. P. Kirk as town attorney was secured the salary of said Kirk to be $35.00 per year payable quarterly. ANd be it further remembered that the following bill was presented Indianapolis Ind. 7/31/97 Culver CIty to WIlliam B. Culver City Indiana Sept 10 1897 Culver City to Voreis & RHodes Dr for 60 - 12 in tile $5.62 On motion said bill was allowed and ordered paid Culver City Ind. Sept 20 1897 Culver City to J. K. Mawhorter Dr. for two days on police force $3,00 On motion said bill was allowed and ordered paid On motion by ALbert A. Keen which motion was duly seconded by Abraham Hayes a side walk was ordered built on the North side of Jefferson Street extending from Main street to the South West sorner of the Publice School ground said walk to be built by Oct 15th. And be it further remembered that on motion which was duly seconded and carried a permit was granted Urias Menser to erect a building on the north side of his hardware store said building to extended into the street so as to be on a line with said store building And be it further remembered that on account of the resignation of Samuel Ulery as Secretary of the Board of Health the Board selected and appointed Thomas Medbourn as Secretary of the Board of Health for the town of CUlver City to have and to hold said office for the term of one year or until his successor is elected and qualifed.
