CULVER - Henry L. Henning, 88, of 909 Lakeshore Drive, died at 8:10 p.m. Thursday at the Parkview Hospital, Plymouth, following an extended illness

He was born Jan. 8, 1894, in North Judson and lived in Culver since 1912.

On June 19, 1917, in South Bend he married Rubie E., who died in 1973.

He retired as purchasing director at Culver Military Academy in 1959.

He was a World War I veteran, having served with the U.S. Army.

He was a member of the Culver Grace United Church of Christ, past master of the Henry H. Culver Lodge 617 F & AM, the Emily Jane Culver Chapter Order of Eastern Star, the Culver Lions Club and the W. A. Fleet American Legion Post 103.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Forrest (Mildred) Curtis of Mahomet, Ill. and Mrs. Roger (Dorothy) Thews of Culver; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Gage and Miss Edna Henning both of North Judson.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Culver Grace United Church with Rev. Thomas French, pastor of the church, officiating,

Burial will be in the Culver Masonic Cemetery.

CULVER - Mrs. Rubie E. Henning, 77, of 909 Lakeshore Dr., died at 6:40 a.m. today in Parkview Hospital, Plymouth, after a three-week-illness. She was born Feb. 6, 1896 in South Bend, and was married June 19, 1917 in South Bend to Henry L. Henning.

He survives with two daughters, Mrs. Forrest Curtis of LaPorte and Mrs. Roger Thews of Culver; 10 grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Culver Grace United Church of Christ with Rev. John H. Krueger, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in the Culver Masonic Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Bonine Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Friday and until noon Saturday.
