Donald began working for the

Donald Slyh, 68, 513 Academy Road, died Thursday, July 4, 2002, at 9:50 a.m. Miller's Merry Manor
in Culver.
Donald was born Oct. 13, 1933 in Columbus, Ohio to Leonore Abele and John SLyh. His parents preceded
him in death.
He married Shirley J. Althoff on June 17, 1961 in Sidney, Ohio. She preceded him in death on Jan.11,
1991.
He was self-employed and a retired accountant.
Donald was a resident of Culver since 1974 coming here from Dayton, Ohio.
He was a member of the Culver Grace United Church of Christ, Culver Kiwanis Club, Triangle lodge No. 748
F & AM and a past president of the Culver Lions Club.
Donald is survived by his sons, Rodney T. and Colleen SLyh of Plymouth and Daniel P. Slyh of St. Petersburgh,
Fla.; his daughter Carrie L. and Joseph Gillis of Carmel, Ind.; his grandson Rodney T. Slyh Jr. of Plymouth
and his granddaughters Carlie Slyh Plymouth and Grace E. Gillis of Carmel; and his grandsons Matthew Joseph
Gillis of Carmel.
He was preceded in death by wife wife, Shirley J. Slyh; his father John Slyh; hims mother, Leonore Slyh;
three brothers and one sister.

Services for Shirley J. Slyh, 51, of 825 Lakeshore Drive, who died at 4:50 a.m. Friday at Memorial Hospitall,
South Bend, after an illness, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Culver Grace United Church of Christ.
Burial will be in Culver Masonic Cemetery.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. SUnday at Bonine Funeral HOme,
where Kappa Kappa Kappa Sorority will condouct a memorial service at 8 p.m.
Memorial contributions my be made to the church or the American Lung Associatio.
Mrs. SLyh was a buisness education teacher at CUlver COmmunity High School Corp.
She was born Apr. 24, 19139, in SIdney, Ohio coming to Culver In 1974 from Dayton, OHio.
On June 17 1961, in SIdney, she married Donald L. SLyh. He survives with a daughter, Carrie L Slyh
of Indianapolis; two sons Roodney T. and Daniel P. both at home; her father Theodire H. Althoff of
SIdney and a brother RObert T. Althoff of Coovington, Ohio.
She was a member of Gamma Phi Beta and Kappa Kappa Kappa sororities.
