George Williams, Native of Wales, Dieas At 67
George Sydney Williams, age 67, died early Sunday morning at his home at 412 Lake Shore Drive after an illness of five years

Final rites were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Easterday Funeral Home with Dr. Harry W. Campbell, pastor of the Methodist Church officiating.

Burial was at the Culver Masonic Cemetery

Mr. WIlliams was born at Llanelly, Wales, on Nov. 24, 1885 and came to the United States to Gas City, Ind. in 1897, later moving to Logansport.

He attended Marion Business College MArion, Ind. and was a member of the Baptist Church and the Culver Masonic Lodge.

He came to Culver 36 years ago where he held the position of cashier in the quartermaster's department at the Culver Military Academy untill ill health forced him to retire five years ago.

Surviving are his wife Fern; a son Jack Temple City, Calif.; four sisters: Mrs. Linna Thomas, Mrs.MAry Evans and Mrs. FLorence Barley all of Baltimore, Md. and Mrs. Maude Byrd St. Peresburg, Fla.; a brother T. H. WIlliams, Greenecastle and two grandchildren. - Sep 30, 1953


Former Logansport Man Dies in Culver
George S. Williams, a former Logansport resident; and Vandalia railroad ticket agent, died Saturday evening at his home in Culver.

He was employed at the milirtary academy.

Survivors are: his wife, the former Fern Eckert; a son, Jack residiing in California and two grandchildrne.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Easterday funeral home in Culver with burial in the Culver Cemetery - Sep 28 - 1953 Logansport Pharos-Tribune.

Mrs. Fern Williams Dies In California After Short Illness

Culver - Mrs. Fern F. WIlliams, up, Monrovia, Calif., a Logansport native, died at 12;30 P.M. Wednesday at Santa Teresita Hospital, Monrovia following an illness of one week.

Born July 31, 1889 in Logansport, she was the daughter of Christopher and Arilla Miller Eckert

She lived in the Culver area for many years before moving to California in 1958

Her marriage was in January 1909 in Logansport to George S> WIlliams who died in 1953

Surviving is one son Jack Arcadia, Calif.
