1909 - Jul 22 - A lot of new cement walk was been put in on Vandalia street and there is now a continuous walk on the right hand side from Main street to the railroad.

1926 - May 5, 12 - Notice - Vacation of Vandalia Street
    To:
  • Town of Culver City, Indiana; and the citizens of the Town of Culver City Indiana;
  • Charles A. Byrd and Elsie L Byrd, husband and wife and
  • .
  • the Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Chicago, and St. Louis Railroad Company, a corporation doing business under and by virtue of the laws of the state r of Indiana.


  • Notice is hereby given to the foregoing person, firms and corportations concerned that the under signed resident land owners affected thereby have on theis 5th day of May, 1926, filed in the Marshall Circuit Court, of Marshall County, State of Indiana, their petition praying for the vacation of a public street in the Town of Culver City, in Marshall County, State of Indiana, to-wit:
      Vandalia Street in said Town of Culver City, Indiana
    and that the matter of the vacation of said said street is an issue by the filing of said petition; and the following person, firms and corporations are the owners of real estate affected by the vacation of said street, to-wit:
  • the Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Chicago, and St. Louis Railroad Company; owners of the right of way of said railroad company which adjoins and abuts, Vandalia Street in said Town of Culver City, in Marshall county, State of Indiana
  • Charles A. Byrd and Elsie L Byrd, husband and wife owners of Lot 14 in Hawkin's Addition to the town of Culver City, in Marshall county, Indiana
  • Henry A. Heine and Anna E Heine, husband and wife, owners of Lots 22, 23, and 24 in Duddleson's Addition to the Town of Culver City, in Marshall county, State of Indiana
  • Also: Vandalia Street in Said town of Culver City, in Marshall county, State of Indiana, will be affected by said vacation proposed
  • Notice is given of said filing of said petition as set forth herein before and of the pendency thereof and that said petition will be heard and determined by the Marhsall Circuit Court, of Marhsall county, State of Indiana on the 24th day of May 1926, at 9:00 a.m. at the Court House in the City of Plymouth, Marshall county, Indiana

1926 - Sep 22 - Vandalia St. Opened By Property Purchase
    Deal Closed Tuesday...

    A strip of property was purchased last Monday night by the Town Board of Trustees from C. A. Byrd which will open up another street to the public.

    The deal was closed and a warranty deed signed early Tuesday morning for a consideration of for hundred dollars.

    The purchase was for the purpose of opening up Vandalia street from Winfield Avenue to Hawkins Street and to allow travel around that block.

    This action has been contemplated for some time, but the deal was not closed until Monday.

    The purchase measured 19 1/2 feet on the south end of the lot and 12 feet on the north end of the lot...
