WINSTON-SALEM, NC - Joanne Clifton, age 80, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, passed away at 11:20 p.m. ; Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at Forsyth County Hospital in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Joanne was born on March 13, 1928, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to William and Nettie (May) Washburn.

Joanne and Bernard Clifton were married in October of 1947.

Joanne is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Bernard; their two daughters, Patricia Willis of Plymouth, Indiana and Debra Sue and Frank Schoonover of Saint Petersburg, Florida; their three sons, Donovan and Diana Clifton of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Robert D. Clifton of San Antonio, Texas, and Rick Allen Clifton of Seattle, Washington; her sister, Mary Jane and Ralph Ulch of Michigan; and her brother, James Washburn of Culver, Indiana.

Eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren also survive.

Joanne was preceded in death by two grandchildren.

Funeral services for Joanne will be on Monday, April 21, 2008, at 3:00 p.m., at the Poplar Grove United Methodist Church in Culver, with the Chaplain Tom Padberg officiating.

Burial will be in the Maxinkuckee I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Culver.

A time of visiting with the Clifton Family will be on Sunday, April 20, 2008, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth, Indiana, 46563 and from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., at the church, prior to the funeral on Monday.

Mary Jane Ulch, 73, of 12143 Behning Road, Ossineke passed away Tuesday November 4, 2008 at Alpena Regional Medical Center.

Born in March 22, 1935 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Edward and Nettie (Walker) Washburn and Married Ralph Ulch on June 15, 1968.

She was a member of Ossineke United Methodist Church, OUMC Woman's Book Club, Eastern Stars and the VFW Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband Ralph, 8 children: Paul Sherwood - Manchester, NH, Mary Jane Bata - Monterey, IN, Julie (Ron) Nichols - South Haven, MI, Harvey Ulch - Boston, MA, Roy Ulch - Fort Wayne, IN, Rita (Brian) Proctor - Indianapolis, IN, Steve (Christi) Ulch - Lincoln, MI, and Patrick Ulch - Monterey, IN, 13 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren, and one brother, James Washburn of Culver, IN.
